Malak Berro, LMSW


Malak has earned her Master’s degree in social work from Wayne State University in 2009. Malak is a licensed clinical social worker, LMSW/LCSW. She has experience in an inpatient setting as well as an outpatient clinic. Malak has worked very closely with clients for Multicultural backgrounds.

Malak believes that everyone deserves a listening ear and an empathic heart. She uses cognitive behavioral therapy to empower clients and allow them to change their automatic thoughts and behavioral tendencies that can really alter their day-to-day life. Malak’s experiences support clients with depression anxiety and adjustment disorders.


Marlene Davis, MA, LPC, CRC


Marlene earned a Masters of Counseling from Wayne State University in 2003. Marlene is a licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC). She has experience helping people adjust to life issues including: depression, anxiety, adjustment to medical conditions, community inclusion and work related issues.

Marlene enjoys the simple pleasures of gardening, preserving, and creating interesting art. She is active at farmers markets, helping to educate others about eating local foods and supporting small business.


Kathleen Enersen, LMSW, IMH-E


Kathleen earned her MSW degree from the University of Michigan. She has experience working with children, adults, and families and addressing concerns including behavioral difficulties, life transitions, stress, trauma, anxiety, and depression.

Kathleen is a Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW), and is endorsed as an Infant Mental Health (IMH-E) specialist from the Michigan Association of Infant Mental Health and is trained in Child- Parent Psychotherapy, which is an evidenced based treatment for children who have experienced trauma. Kathleen integrates infant mental health, relationship-based, DBT, play, and CBT informed treatments in her work with clients.



Austin Kieffer, LMSW


Austin earned his Master of Social Work degree from Wayne State University in 2018. His approach to therapy begins with unconditional positive regard, a belief and acceptance of all clients as worthy, capable individuals. Austin utilizes techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to determine connections between thoughts, feelings, and actions and uses these connections to collaborate with the client on a course of action.
Austin has experience in both community mental health and private practice. While he is comfortable working with various populations, his experience and clinical interests center around mood disorders, trauma, anger management, and LGBTQ concerns.



Kathy Thompson, ATR, LPC, CADC, NCC


Kathy graduated from Wayne State University and received her Masters in Community Counseling and Art Therapy Degree in 2009. Kathy is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Registered Art Therapist (ATR), Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). She has worked in both inpatient residential and outpatient community settings. She has experience working with children, adults and substance abuse populations. Kathy has volunteered at The Children’s Center in Detroit, at Vista Maria in Dearborn Heights and did her internship at Oakland Family Services in Pontiac. Kathy is the director and owner of Wellness Counseling.
