Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, ethical, and clinically skilled clinical supervisor to join our growing outpatient mental health practice. The Behavioral Health Outpatient Supervisor oversees the daily operations of outpatient mental health services, ensuring the effective delivery of care to individuals with behavioral health concerns. This role involves managing a team of clinicians and support staff providing guidance, mentorship, and ensuring that clinical practices adhere to established standards and regulations. The supervisor works closely with patients, coordinating treatment plans, assessments, and interventions to promote mental wellness and recovery. This position requires a FULLY licensed LPC, LMSW, LLP or LP. for 15+ clients seen per week. Preference given to previous supervisory experience. Our office serves the entire State of Michigan. REQUIRED 1-year CMH experience.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care
- Providing clinical supervision and guidance to therapists
- Managing assigned staff caseloads, monitoring key performance indicators, and ensuring accurate weekly billing.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that encourages professional growth.
- Work closely with clinical teams to ensure appropriate referrals and service connections for clients.
- Reviews/mentors/audits documentation for clinical relevance, completeness, timeliness.
- Maintain a weekly caseload of 15 clients, accurate records and documentation in accordance with privacy regulations and best practices.
- Monitors clients seen weekly per therapist.
- Develop and implement training programs for new staff, focusing on best practices and clinical knowledge.
- Provides and directs administrative support staff.
- Stay updated on developments in behavioral health to provide relevant training and resources.
- Advocate for clients’ needs and help navigate barriers to accessing services.
Documentation & Compliance
- Complete clinical documentation accurately and on time in the EMR
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, state licensing boards, and payer requirements
- Participate in audits, chart reviews, and quality assurance processes
- Collect, analyze, and report data related to outpatient services, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Professional Responsibilities
- Attend required supervision, consultation, and staff meetings
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members regarding client care
- Maintain active licensure and complete required continuing education
- Practice within scope of license and seek consultation when needed
Qualifications
Required
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field
- Active or limited license (LMSW, LPC, LLP and LP, or equivalent)
- Eligibility for supervision if limited license.
- Ability to meet documentation and client seen expectations and documentation.
Preferred
- Experience in outpatient mental health settings
- Experience with insurance-based services
- Training in evidence-based modalities (CBT, DBT, EMDR, trauma-informed care, etc.)
Employment Classification
This is a W-2 employee position, not an independent contractor role. Therapists receive employer-provided supervision, administrative support, scheduling assistance, and use of company systems and policies.
